Erling Haaland once again proved decisive as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3–1, moving into second place in the Premier League table.
The Norwegian striker scored twice in the first half to bring his season tally to 13 league goals and 25 in all competitions, punishing Bournemouth’s high defensive line. Nico O’Reilly sealed the win after the break with his first Premier League goal.
Bournemouth briefly equalised through Tyler Adams after Gianluigi Donnarumma fumbled a corner, but Pep Guardiola’s side quickly regained control.
Guardiola praised Haaland’s clinical display and the team’s composure after recent struggles. City now sit six points behind Arsenal and turn their focus to upcoming clashes against Real Madrid and Manchester City.
